Sales and Business Development Manager
Full time, Monday to Friday: 39.5 hours per week
Based: Pride Park, Derby
Salary range: £60,000 basic. Up to £100,000 OTE

Job Summary:
As the Sales and Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for leading our sales efforts and expanding our market presence. Your primary focus will be developing and executing strategic sales initiatives that drive revenue growth while fostering solid client relationships. Collaborating closely with other departments to ensure alignment with our business objectives. Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Strategy Development: Create and implement a comprehensive sales strategy that aligns with company goals, focusing on revenue growth, market penetration, and client acquisition
- Market Research: Conduct thorough market analysis to identify trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape and adapt sales strategies accordingly.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain long-term client relationships, ensuring high customer satisfaction and retention. Act as the primary point of contact for key accounts.
- Sales Pipeline Management: Oversee the sales pipeline, ensuring a steady flow of qualified leads and opportunities. Monitor progress and adjust strategies as needed to meet targets.
- Performance Metrics: Track and analyse sales performance metrics, preparing regular reports for senior management. Use insights to inform decision-making and strategy adjustments.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing team to develop targeted campaigns, promotional materials, and events that support sales efforts and enhance brand visibility.
- Industry Representation: Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to promote Comech Metrology, establish connections, and generate leads.
- Product Knowledge: Maintain deep knowledge of our products and services,
ensuring effective communication of their value propositions to clients. - Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to ensure Comech Metrology remains at the forefront of the metrology sector.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in sales and business development, preferably within the metrology, manufacturing, or engineering sectors.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
- Strong understanding of metrology products and services, with the ability to convey technical information effectively.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with experience in mentoring and developing sales teams.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to think strategically and develop innovative solutions to meet client needs.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Willingness to travel as needed to meet clients and attend industry events.
